Here’s what others are saying about Ho’oNani Day Center…
Our family is so grateful to have Ho’oNani to care for our mom so we can live our lives during the week days & be able to work. Mom is always happy when she gets home. Everyone is kind & loving & patient.”
My mom looks forward for the pick up. She enjoy the church services on Saturdays. I know she enjoy herself at the Daycare. She smiles when she enter the Daycare, she likes the animals. It really helps me to relax sometimes talk to friends when she at the daycare. I have some time to myself.

We regret not seeking out Ho’oNani Place sooner. We hesitated, thinking that we should take care of Grandma for as long as we were able to and that the adjustment would be too great for her.
It has been a win-win situation. Grandma gets to spend part of her day in a loving, caring environment and gets to interact with others. The family gets a bit of a respite and can fulfill some of their own wants and needs.
We are most grateful and appreciative.”

My father is 91 years young and has been attending Ho’oNani Place for about five years. The proprietor of Ho’oNani, Karyn Clay, is very caring, considerate and reliable, and has always gone the extra mile to accommodate our needs. Her staff is friendly and conscientious, and has always treated my father with respect, patience and compassion. The communal atmosphere of the center fosters camaraderie with others and the daytime activities provide some degree of stimulation for my father’s mind and body. It’s a healthier alternative for him than just staying home all day. Because of Ho’oNani’s professionalism and the excellent care provided, I have the utmost confidence and assurance that my father is in good hands. It’s also comforting to know that in case of an emergency, Ho’oNani is less than a mile away from the hospital.”
It is with great pleasure that I have the opportunity to recommend Ho’oNani Place as an excellent Adult Day Care Facility. My wife, Jean, has been having problems with dementia for several years, and the staff and services and facility have been a ‘God sent’ to us, for now approaching 3 years. In fact, I don’t know how we would have coped with the stress involved with caregiving without Ho’oNani.
One of the most prominent benefits is the ‘Aloha Spirit’ that permeates the staff, and especially Karyn (the owner/director), which sets that attitude for the whole place. It is apparent that this is more than just a business–it’s a ‘calling’ that is far above dollars and cents. I have always felt that Ho’oNani was a safe place to entrust Jean with. Each of the people, that have loved ones at Ho’oNani, have different needs and problems, and the staff seems very capable of quickly sensing and adjusting to each of their individual needs.
The facility itself is always clean, and sanitary, and well kept with an upbeat atmosphere (especially at Holidays). There have been several improvements to the facility over the past years we have been there. One of my most appreciated & recent is a covered portico for keeping the rain off of Jean while we are loading or unloading her into our vehicle.
The individual services that Ho’oNani provides are tailored to the individual’s needs. Over the years we have used the Spa Treatments (bathing), assistance with feeding Jean, and previously, Home Delivery Services. I’m not even sure all of the services that are available, but I would venture to think they are many and suited to customer needs.
For our family, we have decided to keep Jean out of the Elder Care/Life Care Facilities as long as possible. Besides being outrageously expensive, the quality of care seems sub-standard to our notion. With that in mind, Ho’oNani is a very financially viable & beneficial option for us. Actually, considering the other options, Ho’oNani is a bargain for our situation.
Overall, we have been more than pleased & blessed to have Ho’oNani as a part of our lives during this challenging ‘end of life experience’.
Regards & Blessings,”

Ho’oNani Place was my first and only call I made for a day care center for my mother. The location and knowing a friend’s mother who went to Ho’oNani Place after (my mother) suffering a stroke was the reason I called. Speaking with Karyn and visiting Ho’oNani Place made me decide this is the place for my mother during the day. My mother has been going to Ho’oNani Place for one year now, and my mother’s improvements are due to the staff’s care. I kept my mother at home for half the week and noticed a decline in her strength and speech. I sent my mother to Ho’oNani Place for six days a week again and she improved. Ho’oNani Place invited school children to sing for their patients, hosted musicians to sing Christmas songs, and many more that I’ve forgotten as I only attended a few events – Karyn was sweet to email me pictures of the events and the birthday party they had for my mother. As a business, Ho’oNani Place is top notch for the reasons I have explained. Personally, I am comfortable with my mother being there because some of the staff are daughters of people I have worked with or working with – I know their mothers and their families have helped my family. My mother is among family friends. Some of the staff have children around the age of my daughter – it’s nice to talk about our children as well as my mother, and their families.”
